Section 3: Student ID Card
Student Account Activation
- Accounts created for?unconditional offer holders?after deposit/tuition fee payment is confirmed.
- Activation instructions sent to your?personal email used in application.
Student ID Card – Photo Submission
For undergraduate, UG exchange/visiting, non-degree students:
- Admissions/红杏视频 Abroad Team collects photos for JW202/DQ form; Student Engagement Team produces ID card.
For HK, Macao, Taiwan, Mainland Chinese exchange/visiting students:
- Send photo to?global@xjtlu.edu.cn
Photo requirements:
- White background, colour, no hat
- File size ≤200 KB, resolution 295×413 pixels
- Name file with your?XJTLU student ID number?(e.g., 2635345.jpg)
Important:?Photo cannot be changed once uploaded.
Master’s & PhD students:
- Graduate School produces and distributes your ID card.

Section 4: Airport pick-up
X-Global will send staff and student volunteers to greet and collect students as follows:
- X1 visa holders:?25–28 August
- X2 visa holders, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao students:?30 August – 1 September
Please note:?X1 visa holders?must not arrive after 28 August?due to health check and residence permit application schedules. Other students may arrive earlier and join the X1 pick-up arrangements.
Bus departure times (SIP Campus):?12:30 and 17:00 daily
Bus departure times (Taicang Campus):?16:00 daily
If all students are collected before the scheduled departure time, buses will leave early – you do not need to wait until 12:30, 17:00, or 16:00.
To use the free university airport pick-up service, please complete the booking form in the?application system?after logging into your application account.
Meeting points at the airport (Pudong Airport):
- Terminal 2:?In front of Starbucks Coffee, Arrivals Hall
- Terminal 1:?Student volunteers will assist you in moving to Terminal 2
If you arrive after 17:00?and have booked the pick-up service, please arrange your own transport to Suzhou. If you need a paid private taxi, you can book one at??(click “Cars” → “Airport Transfers” → “Airport Pick-up”). Approximate cost from Pudong Airport:?350 RMB.
Section 5: Accommodation registration
X1 Visa Holders – Onsite registration (strongly advised if the result of the online registration cannot come out soon)
Take original passport and accommodation check-in receipt (or tenancy contract) on the following addresses to register:
- Parfait Intl / MBA / Parfait Hotel / Scholar’s Apartments → Xietang Sub-district Puhui Service Centre (39 Jinyuan Road, SIP)
- Wenhua Apartments → Xietang Public Service Centre (8 Dunhuang Road, SIP)
- XEC student accommodation in Taicang →? Ludu District Service Centre (1 Min’an Road, Ludu District, Taicang City)
Non-X1 Visa Holders – Online registration
- Scan SIP QR code in the application system after moving in and activating a Chinese SIM card
- If online system fails → ask WeChat group volunteers or apartment staff for help. Visit police station only as last resort.
Important: Failure to register may lead to police interview + fine. University cannot assist; you will need your own translator and / or a witness of the legal process.
All students must complete police registration within 24 hours of moving into their accommodation.

Section 6: Health check
Health Check Requirements by Student Type
Key Points
1. X1 Visa Holders – SIP Campus
- Group check dates:?26, 27, 28, 29, 31 August 2026
- What’s included:?Free transport + on-site support
- Payment: 530 RMB cash (paid to X-Global at check-in in Wenhua/Parfait International Apartments)
- Photos:?2 white-background passport-style photos (bring from home)
- Fasting:?No food/drink (except water) after 8:00 PM the night before
- Must complete all tests?with the group; otherwise, return on your own at your own expense
Students who are living in other apartments can also come to Parfait International Apartments or Wenhua Apartments to pay the health check fee and to book a place.
2. X1 Visa Holders – Taicang Campus
- Group check dates:?1 & 3 September 2026 (for arrivals during 25–28 Aug pick-up)
- What’s included:?Free transport + on-site support
- Payment:?318 CNY (Alipay/WeChat preferred, or exact cash)
- Documents:?Passport + 2 passport photo copies + 1 entry stamp copy + 2 colour photos
- Fasting:?No food after 10:00 PM the night before
- Must complete all tests?before leaving the centre
3. X2 Visa Holders & Students from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Mainland China – SIP Campus
- Location:?Science Building, SIP Campus
- Date:?3 September 2026
- Form collection:?At accommodation reception (or Room 115E, Central Building for private apartment residents)
- Fasting:?No food/drink (except water) after 8:00 PM the night before
- Must complete all tests?on campus; otherwise, go to Suzhou Hospital No. 5 on your own
4. X2 Visa Holders & Students from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau – Taicang Campus
- Location:?Taicang No. 1 Hospital
- Date:?September 2026 (exact date TBC, will be updated later)
For X1 visa holders (recommendation): Bring at least 3?passport-style photos to China before your flight, 2 for health check and 1 for residence permit application.
Late arrival policy:
Must apply via email with valid evidence (e.g., medical proof). Only approved late arrivals are allowed.

Section 7: Residence permit application
Residence Permit Application
Key Points
- X1 visa is valid for?only 30 days upon entry. You must apply for a Residence Permit at the?Suzhou Industrial Park Exit & Entry Bureau (EEB)?within this period.
- If you exceed 30 days: You must attend an interview, may face a legal process (up to 3 months), and a fine of?500 RMB/day?(max. 10,000 RMB).
Health Check Requirement
- Complete your health check at the?International Travel Healthcare Centre?(Suzhou or Taicang).
- Once your report arrives, X-Global will notify you via your XJTLU student email.
Required Documents (summary)
- Original passport + photocopies (bio page, X1 visa page, latest entry stamp)
- Residence Permit Application Statement Letter (colour print)
- Residence Permit Application Form (print on both sides)
- Accommodation Registration Form (valid 6 months)

Section 8: Induction programme
Induction Week – Mandatory Attendance
Induction Week will begin on?31 August 2026. Attendance is?mandatory.
A detailed programme will be sent to you in due course.
Master’s and PhD students
- Are only required to attend?part?of the induction programme organised by X-Global
- Must attend the?entire?programme delivered by the?Graduate School
- X-Global elements you must attend will be clearly indicated in the induction schedule
Section 9: Insurance
The university will purchase?basic medical insurance?for all international, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan students, regardless of programme or study duration. X-Global will retrieve the necessary data from e-Bridge. Please ensure the following information is accurate in the system:
- Name
- Gender
- Date of birth
- Passport number (for international students)
- Travel document number (for Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan students) – e.g., 港澳通行证, 台胞证
- Mainland Chinese Citizen ID number (for overseas Chinese or Chinese exchange/visiting students)
Students are also strongly advised to purchase?Social Insurance, which provides additional state-subsidised healthcare at a modest cost. The university will begin uploading student information into the SIP Provident Fund system in?November 2026, and payments can be made starting in?January 2027. The fee was approximately 250 RMB per person in 2026. The price for 2027 will be announced when it is finalised.

Section 10: Online registration and optional module selection
Stage 1 (Year 1) Undergraduate Students
Students admitted to Stage 1 红杏视频 must register and select optional modules after receiving their student account. The account details will be sent to the personal email address used in the application.

Key information:
- First-round module selection deadline: 15 August 2026
- Selection process:?Submit preferences on Timetable Plus. If a module exceeds capacity, names will be decided by?random lottery.
- Results:?Check back on Timetable Plus (date TBC) and join an additional round if needed.
- Account delay:?If you cannot access Timetable Plus, wait 2–3 working days for your account to be generated, then try again.
- Additional round:?Only for students allocated to advanced English modules.
- Late/missed selection:?Random modules will be assigned – these may not be your preferred choices.
- Major change at end of Stage 1:?You may need to take prerequisite modules. Choose your optional modules accordingly.
- Mathematics/Physics modules:?Not recommended for students without senior high school maths background, unless required by your programme.
- If only maths or physics modules are available for a non-STEM student:?Contact X-Global at?global@xjtlu.edu.cn.

Section 11: Onsite registration
Undergraduate Students
All undergraduate students must submit their admission documents to the Admissions Team for verification. This takes place in?Meeting Room CB108E.
Students will register at the same time when they:

Master’s and PhD Students
Master’s and PhD students must follow the registration arrangements made by the?Graduate School.
